5/10/2023 0 Comments Tor browser for windows 7 64 bit![]() ![]() All you have to do is stop the Trusteer service before running Tor and you're good to go. I did find a tip on Stackexchange that solved the problem: Turns out there's an incompatibility between IBM Trusteer Endpoint Protection and Tor 7. ![]() Update 1: I tried updating to Tor 7.0.10 today. When I launch Tor browser, the firefox.exe process comes up in the Task Manager, and disappears in a split second. Nothing.Įdit 2: It looks like something is killing the Tor Firefox distribution. ![]() Then manually created Windows Firewall rules to allow both firefox.exe and tor.exe through. ![]() Tried turning Avast and MBAM off, but that didn't work either.Įdit: I also installed Firefox, figuring Tor browser may have had missing dlls. I'm running Avast anti-virus and Malwarebytes and Windows 7 64-bit. I tried deleting the Tor folder and reinstalling, rebooting my PC several times, and nothing seems to work. I have no idea how to solve this problem. Running firefox.exe from the Tor browser folder doesn't do anything (which I'd expect since the Tor browser desktop shortcut points to firefox.exe anyway). However, if I go into the Tor folder and launch tor.exe manually, the process does appear in task manager, but the firefox process (which I understand needs to run for the Tor browser to work) doesn't show up. Task manager doesn't show it running as an application or a process. When I start it from the desktop link, I get the Windows "hangup" circle as if it's loading, but nothing happens. I updated Tor, and now I can't get it to start. I was using Tor browser today when it told me that an upgrade was available. ![]()
